A handful of questions

This will probably be a bit more refined over the next few days, but in the meantime, this is going to have to do. It's narrowing a bit on curfew, and I wouldn't mind getting a few hours of sleep before that point. These are a few questions that have been asked over the past little while, and we have a few answers for them. If you've got any other questions not answered here, write up a comment or fire me an email at ingitealaska@yahoo.com.

1. How involved is Teen Mania?
Answer: Teen Mania isn't directly involved. There are (current) interns and staff members, as well as alumni and former members of staff that are going to be a part of Ignite.

2. Are they sending at ATF team there?
Answer: Nope. Since TMM isn't directly involved, you probably drew that connection on your own. I can see where the confusion came from, but the Ministry Team isn't being sent out to Alaska or anything, and this isn't affiliated with Teen Mania Ministries or Acquire the Fire.

3. I heard we may have to provide and pay for our own transportation to IGNITE ALASKA. Is this correct?
Answer: Yes. It is true, transportation and pay is all in your hands. We have a financial plan and everyone needs to set aside at least two fund-raising weekends and fund-raise for their ticket here. If you are involved in the Honor Academy internship, this event is going to require 5 vacation days. We will try to talk to somebody about waiving vacation days, but as of now, look at it as a sacrifice of giving them up. However, you are not alone in the fund-raising effort. We have dedicated people and business corporations that will donate matching funds and other such things. Some people will donate free air miles. We're working on these things, and we'll keep you updated with whatever we happen to obtain. You're not alone in this whole thing, and we're encouraging you to work together (if possible), but you are responsible for getting yourself there. That's why we need you to be committed to this. Notably, we don't want you coming if you just want to visit Alaska. I know it's probably a supercool place (never having been there myself), but this isn't a sight-seeing trip, yeah? This is about saving souls and telling people about the gospel, so we want people that are committed to the cause. We have a $100 dollar deadline for November, which means all volunteers must have already funded $100 dollars for the transportation. Our goal is to have each individual raise $650 dollars. If you are in a bind and need some help, let us know, as we're here to help you out. We're asking for your help, so we're not going to ignore you or leave you out in the cold.

4. How would Housing look like for volunteers?
Answer: All housing will be provided. And it won't be tents. Families in the area will be providing housing, so you're covered there.

5. Would we need to find host homes?
Answer: Seriously? I just kind of answered that. But again, housing is provided.

6. When is the latest you need to know about volunteer commitments?
Answer: Mid-November. We're going to have commitment forms out to you all by that point, and signing pretty much means that you're committed to the whole deal. Of course, if a family emergency comes up, then we'll get something figured out.

7. Are you guys paying for us to get there or how is that working someone told me that you guys pay for that?
Answer: No. This question was pretty much addressed earlier (question 3). We want you guys (and girls) to be praying seriously about this, fasting, and letting people know about this so they can pray about it too. We've got 9 months to go. Funny how quickly time passes, eh? It's not going to be the easiest thing, but it will be rewarding. Hard work is all over the Bible, it should be in our lives too.

Okay, that's it. As mentioned before, if you get any other questions, be sure to email us (ignitealaska@yahoo.com) or just leave a comment, and we'll get back to you. In the meantime, we shall catch you kids later.
